Chain mail or Maille, consisting of small metal rings linked together in a pattern to form a mesh, have a long history dating back a long as 4th century BC. It was used widely as battlefield armour, especially during the Iron Age and Middle Ages. 

 

​

As of modern day uses, chain mail is used as protective clothing eg. as stab proof vest or mail gloves for scuba diver against shark bites etc. As for decorative uses, chain mail has applications in sculpture and jewellery, especially when made out of precious metals or colourful anodised metals. For these non-traditional applications, hundreds of patterns aka 'weaves' have been invented.

Here in ARIEL.C, the chain mails weaves are simplified, mix and matched with colours, materials, proportions to bring you a modern, elegant or funky style of jewellery.
